The Westward Extension High-Speed Railway, abbreviated as the Westward Extension High-Speed Rail, is a high-speed railway connecting Xi'an and Yan'an. The line starts from the north end of Xi'an East Station, passes through a series of cities and regions, and ultimately extends to Yan'an New District Station. With a total length of approximately 291.7 kilometers and a total investment of 60 billion yuan, it is designed for a speed of 350 kilometers per hour.
The New Yan'an Tunnel is an important tunnel on the Westward Extension High-Speed Railway, with a total length of 16 kilometers, making it the first long tunnel to be completed along the entire line. It is located between Baota District in Yan'an City and Ganquan County, and is a single-bore double-track tunnel. Due to its location in the loess hilly and gully region, the geological conditions are complex, making it one of the tunnels with the highest safety risks and construction difficulties on the Westward Extension High-Speed Railway.
The LanHi LGM312H intelligent integrated arch anchor trolley adopts an engineering chassis and is equipped with a dual anchor system. The machine features four-wheel steering, four-wheel drive, two-way driving and other functions. Its diesel-electric dual power system supports electric construction and diesel-powered emergency operations. The threearm remote control can meet the requirements for prefabricated arch frame installation, operation of various benching methods and precise positioning adjustment of the arch frame. The arch frame can handle under-excavation and welding operations during installation, and the tunnel itself is very flexible.
On December 9, 2024, the New Yan'an Tunnel of the Xi'an to Yan'an High-Speed Railway was successfully completed. This milestone event marks that 50% of the tunneling along the entire Westward Extension High-Speed Railway has been completed, laying a solid foundation for the timely opening of the railway.
