Ehan Expressway, abbreviated as Ehan Expressway, connects Emeishan City and Hanyuan County, serving as an important part of Le'er Expressway and Lexi Expressway. This road passes through Ebian Yi Autonomous County, Mabian Yi Autonomous County, Jinkouhe District, and Wushidaqiao Township, Ganluo County, and finally reaches Hanyuan County, Ya'an City. The completion of Ehan Expressway connects five important expressways within the province, including Yaxi Expressway, Leya Expressway, Chengle Expressway, Leyi Expressway, and Lezi Expressway, forming a complete expressway network.
Ehan Expressway has a planned mileage of 123.48 kilometers, designed as a two-way four-lane road with a speed limit of 80 kilometers per hour. There are 11 interchange-style interchanges along the expressway, namely Emei (Hub), Luomu, Shaxi, Longchi, Dawei, Ebian, Heizhugou, Jinkouhe, Wushe River, Hanyuan East, and Hanyuan North (Hub). The setting of these interchanges effectively improves traffic efficiency and provides convenience for the economic development and people's livelihood in the surrounding areas.
The Yingjiping Tunnel of Ehan Expressway is located in Tonghua Village, Yiping Township, Ebian County. The tunnel passes through the mountainous area of western Sichuan, where the terrain is undulating and complex, posing great difficulties for the design and construction of the tunnel. In addition, the geological structure in this area is active, with developed faults and folds, coupled with long-term weathering and erosion, resulting in uneven and easily fragmented formations, increasing the uncertainty and risk of tunnel construction.

The construction of Yingjiping Tunnel adopts modern tunnel engineering technology, including advanced ventilation, lighting, monitoring, and safety facilities, ensuring the safe operation of the tunnel. Due to the complex terrain and geological conditions that the tunnel passes through, various challenges were encountered during the construction process, such as high ground stress and heavy water hazards.
